FAQ
A question? Your answer may be here! π·
Welcome to the FAQ section, a guide to learn everything about my rugs, my creative process and my sales. I have gathered here the most frequently asked questions to help you better understand my work and take care of your future rugs.
The questions
What is tufting?
Tufting is a craft technique that I use to create my rugs. It's a bit like embroidery, but in an XXL version! I use a "tufting gun" that injects wool threads through a canvas stretched on a frame. With my own little hands, I shape each design: colorful and textured patterns that make each rug unique.
How do you make your rugs?
It all starts with creative monitoring: I feed off Pinterest, the music I listen to and the exhibitions I visit.
Then I let my imagination run wild by designing my designs, which I project and draw on a monk's canvas stretched over a frame.
I carefully choose my wools and their colors, like an artist selecting her palette of paints. Each nuance has its importance.
Armed with my tufting gun, I bring my design to life by tufting the wool onto the frame. It's a bit like painting, but with wool!
To ensure the quality and durability of my creations, I apply carpet glue and a non-slip canvas on the back. This is the important step for a carpet that lasts!
Finally, I shave the carpet and cut every detail with precision.
This creative process takes me between 3 days and 1 week per creation. Each creation is made with a lot of love. π
How do I preserve my rugs?
It is normal for a few threads to come out of the rug during the first few weeks. If this is the case, gently pull the thread in question. If it remains stuck, take precise scissors and carefully cut only the excess thread.
You can place furniture on your carpet without any problem. However, to avoid permanent marks, I advise you to change its position regularly.
For maintenance, you can use a lint roller or a low-power vacuum cleaner. If a stain appears, clean it quickly with a slightly damp cloth. Absolutely avoid stain removers, as they can damage the fibers and discolor the wool.
Warning: never put your rug in the washing machine, otherwise it will end up in tatters!
To best preserve your rug, it is recommended not to place it in high traffic areas. Although the wool of the rug is glued and doubled, keep in mind the handmade nature of the piece.
Do you accept custom/made orders?
It all depends on the desired design, but if it aligns well with my artistic direction, I would be happy to discuss it with you! π
I invite you to go through the "Custom Rugs" tab to submit your project to me. Looking forward to collaborating on something that you like and that represents you!
